Amazon Invests in the Czech Republic

Amazon logoAmazon issued a press release to tout its investments in the Czech Republic. It said it has already created over 4,500 permanent jobs in its logistics operations in Dobrovíz and corporate office in Prague-Dejvice, and in 2018, it will create more than 500 new permanent jobs in the Czech Republic that will be for people with all types of experience, education and skill levels.

Amazon today announced plans to create more than 500 permanent jobs this year, taking the company’s total Czech workforce to more than 5 000. These new job opportunities are for people with all types of experience, education and skill levels—from HR and IT professionals, to those seeking entry-level positions and on-the-job training. The successful candidates will join Amazon’s state-of-the-art operations in Dobrovíz or Corporate office teams in Prague-Dejvice.

“We are very happy that our recruitment in the Czech Republic is ahead of plan. We committed to creating 4,000 permanent jobs at the end of 2017, but our headcount grew to more than 4 500 full-time permanent employees in the end of last year. There is a wealth of talents in the Czech Republic who are open to a new experiences and opportunities in a company that is driven by technological innovation and customer focus,” said Karel Foltýn, HR Director, Operations Germany and Central and Eastern Europe, Amazon.

All Amazon Czech employees receive a very attractive salary, benefits package and career progression opportunities. Amazon offers traditional, upward career paths that allow people to develop themselves for management roles. In 2017 several hundred employees have been promoted within the company structures. Also, over 360 fulfillment employees took part in an innovative Career Choice program and more are signing up every day.

Amazon’s Career Choice program helps train employees for in-demand jobs at Amazon and other companies. The program pre-pays up to 120 000 CZK of tuition for courses in pre-approved in-demand fields, regardless of whether the skills are relevant to a future career at Amazon.
