Amazon won’t release the number of customers who pay for a Prime subscription, but today it revealed that in 2017, it shipped over 5 billion items through the free 2-day shipping program. It also said that more new paid members joined Prime worldwide than any previous year. In 2017, the Amazon fulfillment and shipping network increased by more than 30% in square footage worldwide; here’s a look at other Prime trends it revealed today.

Amazon today announced its Best of Prime 2017 – revealing some of the Prime member favorites of the year. Prime members in the U.S. embraced smart home shopping in 2017, with Prime members adding millions of new Amazon devices to their homes, including Fire TV Stick with Alexa Voice Remote, Echo Dot and Amazon Echo.
