eBay Runs Free Listing Promotion in UK

eBay logoSome eBay sellers in the UK will be able to list up to 100 auction and fixed-price listings per day and pay no insertion fees for the month of January.

eBay is running a free listing promotion in the UK, but only for sellers who are not registered as businesses. The messaging makes it clear eBay is focused on consumer sellers, stating “Only Pay When You Sell – With free listings you can now list all the items you’ve been meaning to sell. Best thing is, you only pay if they do.”

Auctions and fixed price listings are included, through sellers must still pay upgrade fees and fees for 1- and 3-day auctions. And, according to the terms, “The number of listings eligible under this promotion is limited to 100 listings per day or by your seller restrictions, whichever you reach first.”

While the promotion excludes business sellers, it appears it’s not limited to the usual “by invitation-only” terms.

There are restrictions, such as the following: “Only items listed on eBay.co.uk using the auction-style (excluding 1 & 3 days duration) or fixed price (excluding 3 days duration) format in an eligible category are included. Listings using the auction-style with Buy it now format will be charged only the listing upgrade fee.”

Be sure to read details and restrictions on the promotion landing page.
