eBay is running a new seller promotion after cancelling a different one this week. It’s uncertain if eBay sent the new promo to the same sellers as the cancelled one.
The new promo incentivizes sellers to list very high-value items in certain categories. It runs from March 15 through March 29, 2018, and sellers must activate the promotion.
Invited sellers who activate the promotion receive 40% off final value fees – but only on sales of $250 or more. Specifically eBay outlined in its terms:
“Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who activate the offer and then list up to 1,000 Qualifying Item(s)* with a sale price of $250 or more in the fixed price, auction-style, or auction-style with Buy It Now format during the Promotion Period, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein, will receive a 40% discount on final value fees (“Promotional Rate”) on any Qualifying* Item that is listed during the Promotion Period (the “Promotion”).”
But beware: the promotion is also restricted to certain categories, including: Art & Collectibles; Pottery & Glass; Business & Industrial; Home & Garden; Handbags & Bags; Jewelry & Watches; Toys; Tickets; and Books. And note that the promotion is restricted to certain subcategories within those listed. For example, only Antiquarian & Collectible books are eligibile in the Books category. Be sure to read the full terms for details and restrictions before activating.
The previously cancelled promotion had far fewer restrictions – you can learn more about it on the EcommerceBytes Blog.
Only on sales of 250 or more. sounds like fleabag is catering to the higher value listings that the scammers love.
