In an apparent fit of braggadocio, a former executive seems to have revealed Amazon GMV, reporter Shira Ovide noted.
An interesting mention of gross merchandise volume — a metric that Amazon does not disclose. pic.twitter.com/uMPyocRj6U

She pointed to a CNBC article about Dave Stephenson’s move from Amazon to Airbnb in which it wrote: “In a blog post, Airbnb said that in his most recent role at Amazon, Stephenson “oversaw gross merchandise sales in excess of $250 billion and helped the business achieve double digit revenue and operating profit growth over the past four years.””
The Airbnb blog post no longer mentions the $250 billion GMV referenced in the CNBC article, so we asked Amazon PR, which has not responded to our inquiry.
Amazon reported net sales of $177.9 billion in 2017, and net income of $3 billion.
Big mouth Ex’s always spill the beans. But people with brains doubt them for the truth. Usually its more a payback move.
whenever an executive go’s somewhere else, they always inflate what they did in the past.
sooner or later they get caught in the lies and then go somewhere else.
that’s why poor executives are job hoppers.
