Amazon is offering Prime members a new perk: they can buy tickets for an early showing of a new holiday movie 12 days before its release. Prime members can purchase up to 10 tickets to the early showings of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle at more than 1,000 movie theaters nationwide. In addition, Amazon will roll out the Prime “blue carpet” in some of the theatres to surprise members with a unique experience.
Coming 2 weeks before Christmas, it’s a way to reward existing members – and to sign up new members to the Prime program as well. (Amazon Prime members spend more on the site than non-members.)
Amazon will promote its own services while providing an extra level of excitement to the movie-going experience: it will provide Jumanji-themed photo booths at the theatres (courtesy of Prime Photos) and gift bags with Whole Foods Market Gift Cards and giveaways (Amazon acquired Whole Foods Market this year).

About “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”
In the brand-new adventure Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the game has changed as four teenagers in detention are sucked into the world of Jumanji. When they discover an old video game console with a game they’ve never heard of, they decide to play and are immediately thrust into the game’s jungle setting, in the bodies of the avatar characters they chose (Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan). What they discover is that you don’t just play Jumanji – Jumanji plays you. To win, they’ll have to go on the most dangerous adventure of their lives, or they’ll be stuck in the game forever… Directed by Jake Kasdan, the screenplay is by Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers and Scott Rosenberg & Jeff Pinkner with a screen story by Chris McKenna, based on the book Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg. The film is produced by Matt Tolmach and William Teitler.
