Facebook Adds Payments to Messenger Platform

Facebook is allowing businesses to sell products and services directly to customers in its chat platform called Messenger, commonly used on mobile devices. Customers can check out with a few easy clicks, without ever leaving the Messenger app, Facebook explained.

“Payments can now be integrated into messages, making it easy for customers to shop and purchase without leaving the app.”

It’s another bid by a tech giant to move commerce on to its own platform.
