eBay Expands Customer Protection in 3 European Countries

eBay is expanding protection for customers based in France, Italy, and Spain. On Monday, it revealed it had launched eBay Customer Guarantee (eCG) in those markets, which it refers to as FRITES.

eBay Customer Guarantee is equivalent to eBay Money Back Guarantee, it explained.

“With the launch of eCG, eBay will provide even more protection for our French, Italian, and Spanish Buyers and we’ve also improved the process for all return requests,” eBay said. “Our buyers will get active resolution support from eBay, and if there is a problem with the purchased item or they haven’t received the item, they can contact eBay directly for help.”

eBay is looking to hire new staff in Ireland to support the initiative, including a French Escalations Teammate, a French CARE Teammate, and a French Trust & Safety Teammate. The latter will be responsible for “supporting the needs of our members and ensuring we provide a clean and safe site on which to trade. As a frontline representative, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers – it is critical that you help provide them with predictable, compassionate, and timely resolution to their questions and enquiries while maintaining a positive and friendly attitude.”
