Bonanza Focuses on Seller Dashboard and Hiring Developers

Bonanza is once again on a roll with new enhancements to its site, and the latest is a revamped account page, called the My Bonanza page. The marketplace explained that since the needs of buyers and sellers are different, it decided to give each group their own page to make it easier for users to find what they need.

“Everyone who uses the site has a My Bonanza page, which focuses on shopping and general account information (things like messages, feedback, rewards, and settings). Sellers will also have a My Sales tab, which shows more detail around sales, performance, and tools, along with a navigation specifically for sellers,” the company explained in its announcement.

Bonanza founder Bill Harding elaborated, telling EcommerceBytes it had been 4 years since it made any significant improvements to My Bonanza. The page, which is the default when a user logs in, gets about 100,000 pageviews daily.

Given that the page acts as a dashboard for sellers, Harding said the new design does a better job of exposing functionality sellers use most often (e.g., selling stats, new sale notifications), while hiding functionality that they use less often (e.g., wishlists, hand picked lists). “We’ve used a combination of Google Analytics, support inquiries, and our own intuition to determine what sellers are going to want to do most often, and we are confident this new page will be a better reflection of today’s usage patterns,” he said.

And once the new page officially launches, Bonanza will use feedback from users to improve it further still, he said, “but we feel pretty great about where it’s starting from.”

In addition to the My Bonanza project, the company has been focusing on hiring. “We want to be sure we have full time developers to continuously improve the parts of our site that are most important,” he said.

More information about the new My Bonanza page, including screenshots, is available on the Bonanza blog.
