Etsy Launches iPhone App for Sellers

Etsy is adding a mobile app to its lineup that is exclusively designed for sellers, who rely heavily on mobile devices to manage their Etsy shops, the company said. With Sell on Etsy, sellers can manage their shop activity feed with purchases, feedback and favorites; manage open orders and review completed ones; and access their shop stats such as views, favorites, orders and revenue history.

Sellers can also create, edit and publish listings directly from their phone and communicate with buyers. And, Etsy will push notifications to sellers when they get a sale or feedback.

Etsy spokesperson Nikki Summer said Sell on Etsy (SOE) will run on iPhone and iPad, but it is not optimized for iPad. “We’re working on SOE for Android, which will be optimized for phones and tablets, and we plan to introduce that in summer 2014,” she said.

“We think the most popular aspect of the seller app will be the ability to manage their shops largely from their phones. No longer will sellers need to be tied to their desktop computers to take care of important shop business.”

The selling app is available in English, French, German, Dutch and Italian.

More information is available on the Etsy blog, and sellers discussed the new app on the Etsy forums.
