eBay is running a free-listing promotion with a twist: it also gives sellers half-off of commission fees. Sellers can list up to 50,000 auction or fixed-price listings per month during the promotion period and pay no insertion fees and only 50% of normal Final Value Fees. The promotion kicked off in April and runs through the end of June – however, it’s by invitation only.
Sellers that qualify for participation will have received an email or message in My eBay. Only 5-, 7-, 10-, and 30-day listing durations are included. However, it appears sellers will be charged for extra-duration fees, such as the 40-cent optional fee to run a 10-day listing.
All existing selling limits as well as category and item limits apply and may exclude sellers from creating the maximum number of listings available. Only sellers whose accounts meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards are eligible.
eBay said the 50%-off Final Value Fees promotional rate will not be shown during the listing process, but would be reflected in the “View Account Status” section in My eBay as well as in the seller’s next invoice.
The promotion runs from April 23 – June 30, 2014. All other fees apply, see details and restrictions on the eBay website.
