Some eBay sellers expecting their weekly payout to arrive automatically on Tuesday were disappointed, with several threads popping up reporting the issue. “Any seller aware of a payout glitch,” asked one seller. Another replied that no one seemed to know, “not even eBay.”
In another thread on the eBay discussion boards, a seller said they’ve had weekly scheduled payouts for years and this was the first time eBay missed it. “I tried to use the Help/Chat feature to find out what was going on, but AI didn’t understand my question. I re-phrased it 3 times, but it was no use. So I tried calling to ask someone at eBay about it. Unfortunately, there was just a bot on the line, who couldn’t discern if I was a buyer or seller (why would a buyer be requesting their weekly scheduled payment?).” The seller went on to ask how to manually request their funds and asked if there was a fee for doing so.
In another thread, a seller shared a screenshot showing the following message:
“Your payouts are blocked while we review your account. This is a routine process to keep your account safe and takes up to 2 business days to complete. We’ll email you if we need more info.”
An eBay moderator replied to the seller, writing: “There is an open ticket right now due to some sellers not having their normal scheduled payouts. The open ticket is ALERT16761 and the Product team is working to have a resolution ASAP.”
The seller expressed their continued concern, asking, “Ok, so my store isn’t in jeopardy then? I’m freaking out, I’m retired and this is my only means of support.”
There was no follow-up from eBay about the issue, but the discussions died down, indicating the glitch may have been fixed on Tuesday. But sellers who were impacted this week may be holding their collective breath to see if their next payouts arrive as scheduled next week.
