Etsy Adds Listing Strategies Feature for Ads

Etsy added a new feature to give sellers greater control over their ads. However, the new “listing strategy” feature is available only to sellers using Etsy Ads with a daily budget of $25 or more.

Etsy compared the listing strategy feature to the campaign strategy feature, which sellers can use to set a goal for their entire campaign. “Listing strategies take that same idea to each listing, so you can guide how your budget is put to work based on the goals for each one. Same simplicity, more control where you want it.”

Sellers can choose from the following three listing strategies:

  • Greater visibility: This focuses on getting listings more reach. Etsy says this strategy is “a good fit for your bestsellers, new listings you want to launch, or key shopping moments like Mother’s Day or the holiday season.”
  • Lower click cost: This approach guides the system toward lower-cost clicks. Etsy says this strategy is “useful for listings with thinner margins or limited inventory where you want to stay present in search without spending too much.”
  • Efficient spending: This “balanced approach,” which is the default setting, “works well as a default for most listings.”

Etsy said sellers can update listings’ strategies any time, but recommends sellers give it 30 days. “If your daily ads budget is $25 or more, go to your Etsy Ads dashboard to set listing strategies. From there, you can manage strategies across your listings and adjust how your budget is used. Not at $25 a day yet? Increasing your daily budget to $25 or more unlocks listing strategies.”
