New eBay Feature Lets Sellers Advertise All Listings at Once

eBay launched a new feature for sellers available in its mobile app called easy boost, calling it the “fastest way to promote your items”:

“Easy boost is the fastest and easiest way to promote all of your items at once. Set a single ad rate and we’ll automatically help boost your items higher up in search results and across eBay. You can reach more buyers, get more visibility, and help sell your items faster. New listings are automatically promoted too, which means less work for you.”

While it makes it easier for sellers, they should be aware that using the feature promotes all of the listings in their account automatically – including when they list new items for sale – a potentially costly proposition that conveniently “boosts” eBay’s bottom line.

Sellers who list items with different profit margins might want to continue to set separate ad rates based on individual items or categories of items.

Given past experiences where sellers have found certain settings turned on inadvertently, sellers may also wish to monitor listings to see if “easy boost” gets unknowingly turned on, whether by seller mistake or by glitch.

Another issue to be aware of: “if you already have listings promoted using a general strategy, they’ll be included in easy boost automatically and will use the single ad rate you select (replacing the prior ad rate).”

Sellers pay ad fees only when the items sell based on the ad rate they set. Check the post for the full announcement including FAQs.
