  1. In reading the replies here, I’ve been selling on Etsy for a couple of years now. I sold over the 10K mark. At no time do I see 25%? Pricey, yes but so are all the other platforms.

It has been my experience to succeed on Etsy you need a good product with a great return. You can’t lose at that point. They get their cut and I get a great cut too. I have invested more time in being safe in what I sell on Etsy.

I don’t want to slam any platform, but honestly it has been my experience one of the big box stores is a no win, others are snail sales.

With the “other” platform if you find a product that sells well the very next thing you know THEY begin selling the same product at a very low price. In order to get “some” of your money back you paid to purchase the product you sell it lower and once you are cleared of the product their prices go up significantly. I have lots of proof to this issue.

I enjoy selling on Etsy and I monitor expenses versus profit constantly. If you are wanting to sell a $20 product you paid $8 or $9 for, you will lose. It takes a lot of work to figure out what products you want to invest in.
