Since the Offsite Ads program was implemented, we have only noticed one charge for an offsite ad. That one felt so bogus, as we know that it’s the sort of collectible that a customer seeks out; does not tend to buy just from browsing… iow, our own promotion of the item probably brought the sale, or the customer doing a search that brought it up. The fee on the sale, which was for about 35.00, felt crazy high on top of the other fees – about 7-8 dollars in total. The other thing that bothers us about this is that we do not make 10,000/year on Etsy, so don’t understand why we’ve been forced into the program. Etsy should provide offsite advertising as part of all the fees we pay already, imo, but not holding our breath on that one…
