  1. And we reassert that overtime has, and will continue to be, approved as needed.

Nice way to sound just like something Ebay would say. This gives you the ability to not approve ANY overtime all while facing the public and lying through your teeth. I know that at least in my area the routes have already been timed to almost the exact second that a carrier can get their items delivered within the number of hours designated for that route. But whenever a carrier calls in sick or is on vacation their is never anybody to replace that person so they wind up using overtime for volunteers to split the route of and they are then paid overtime for doing this. But now due to your mandates of no overtime and even your newest change which says it will be approved as needed is not going to help things out at all, since you already have shown USPS customers that delivering our mail is no longer important to the Postmaster General or we would not have days with no mail delivery due to time constraints and then that mail is then left behind since the next days mail needs to get delivered. I will be very curious what the method will be to get overtime approved? Will it be after the fact the time has been put in by the carriers or will it now require authorization which means we will have more and more days moving forward of never knowing if we will get the mail we should be getting or not.

I have zero faith that this Postmaster General has any ideas other than how to put the Postal Service out of business or further push more business to their competitors. He should be forced to sell those shares immediately (since he did not disclose them before taking office) as this just makes him look like another politician who is out to increase his/her wealth while using his position to help make it happen.

Personally I could do without Saturday delivery which would take a nice chunk out of their expenses and on the way to possible liquidity without having to make all of these mandates which appear to be aimed at the union as well as the public that i can and am going to do whatever i feel like doing and there is not a thing anybody can do about it.

  2. Other question, will they still raise rates if they get billions in bail out, its the small seller getting price right out of business and of course they’ll get another increase in Jan.

  3. I see some folks fell for the silly and fake conspiracy theory that President Trump is having USPS Mailboxes hauled away so the Democrats can’t stuff all those fake ballots into them. Isn’t that exactly what that means? Is the election suddenly a foregone conclusion if we have vote by mail instead of in person?? I absolutely despise politics and it pains me to have to comment on it but sometimes it cannot be helped. Oh and one last thing to the person who compared the Postmaster General to Ebay. Just a reminder, the last two CEO’s of Ebay were very large donors and fundraisers for the Democratic Party. Yes, the CEO who oversaw that horrendous crime that was perpetrated on our wonderful hosts here at ECbytes (who we greatly appreciate & care about by the way). I pray that the USPS gets fixed somehow and by whom I do not care because without it we are finished. Best Wishes and good selling.

  4. The destruction of USPS continues, as piles of junked sorting equipment and blue collection boxes continue to grow. De NOJoy is lying, as the Trump admin has been doing for 4 years. Jan 20 can’t come soon enough. Be sure to vote as early as possible!

  5. @JackCrevalle, thank you for your accurate comments. There IS politics involved, through and through! I can’t believe so many people are dumb enough to fall for yet another Democrat lie about the mail service. USPS has been struggling since Covid hit in earnest. Our Priority Mail goes to the Springfield MA sorting facility which has become NeverNever Land! I PERSONALLY mailed a Priority package from upstate NY to western PA and it took SIX WEEKS to arrive and then ONLY after I filed a Package Intercept to “return to sender,” for which I was charged $14.95 and it never happened – the day I got an email from USPS stating the package was back at my home post office and my Postmaster would be happy to give it to me, it arrived AT ITS DESTINATION in PA. Needless to say I disputed the credit charge and won. This is ONE example. I myself – just me – can give you many more (but this was the worst).

Mail service became unpredictable MONTHS AGO, it is NOT the president’s or anyone’s fault, it is suffering the same effects as other companies because of Covid. It will continue to be unpredictable until Covid becomes a non-issue.

Further, there is no way to track a First Class (absentee ballot) envelope to be certain when and/or if it reached its destination. I would NEVER use an absentee ballot, because frankly I do not trust the system. My name is right there on the outside of the mailing envelope – where that ballot goes depends on the honesty of who receives it and checks it in for counting.

  6. @paulw – please, let’s not get into “facts” without backup. Even the Washington Post newspaper which despises Pres. Trump, reported that no more boxes are being removed: https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/08/14/people-are-freaking-out-about-mailbox-removals-postal-service-says-its-routine/

And for those who think Voter Fraud does not exist, try the samples cited by the Heritage Fund, an independent organization: https://www.heritage.org/voterfraud .

Frankly, I am surprised that USPS has as many freestanding blue boxes as they do – UPS and FedEx removed almost all of theirs years ago, for fear of domestic terrorists blowing them up. As for USPS, this type of box is not the safest thing to drop envelopes into: they can become stuck in one of the seams inside. Not usual, but it happens. Besides, as the WP article points out, most voters get their absentee ballots by mail – so they can return them the same way, just give it to your carrier.

  7. Wow !!! All of a sudden the USPS is extremely inefficient. Maybe it’s the president’s fault. He’s been running the mail service all these years. It couldn’t be congress. They have such a flawless reputation for fixing problems.
