  2. It is very insulting to gift someone a refurbished item. At the same time you are also embarrassing yourself by saying you are too broke / too cheap to buy new. But what does eBay know about etiquette and social manners anyway? This is the company that encourages its broke / cheapskate buyers to send lowball offers and / or unwanted text messages asking for all sorts of things (freebies, layaway plan, payment installments, you name it).
