I remember back in the day when I had a store on eBay, over 10 years ago, they had a similar program. I entered my store as I thought it was set up nicely and looked well besides bringing in sales. So they announce the winners and I don’t win – boohoo – not like I was really expecting to but I did go look at the store that won. I was appalled! He had about 20 items and still hadn’t managed to get them in any coherent category, the listings themselves were bad both grammatically, spelling bad, and what they said about the product and the photos weren’t any good. Yet this guy won. He could have used the help, but that wasn’t what the contest was about, it was to promote and help someone that was already doing great to help them make it even better. Since then, i look at these ‘contests’ as just something silly that maybe the company can brag about.
