eBay Sellers Stymied by Tech Problems Friday Afternoon

eBay glitch
eBay glitch

eBay sellers were unable to access the main Seller Hub portal on Friday afternoon, leaving them unable to accomplish tasks related to listing and fulfilling orders. “Need to ship the last few orders before the USPS close today,” one seller wrote. Another worried about holiday shipping deadlines.

We noticed no reports of problems impacting buyers.

eBay sellers encountered the message, “We ran into a problem, but we’re working on it. Please try later.” In this thread, sellers discussed workarounds that would allow them to print invoices and purchase postage.

The technical problems struck sometime between 3 and 4 pm Eastern – users reported it on the Ecommerce EKG board beginning at 3:37 pm.

At 5:24 pm, an eBay moderator posted on this board, “We’re aware of the issue with Seller Hub displaying errors, and it should currently be working. Thanks!” He didn’t return to explain the cause of the problem.

There was also a spike in reports of technical problems at eBay on Down Detector.

  1. Very complex source-code with at least 100 pages+, for desktop version Vs. the mobile version. I see problems every day on eBay. Even leaving a tracking # from the Original sale notice says” Opps Something went Wrong” its been that way many for months! What do you expect? They OUT-SOURCED American Tech dept. to India! Garbage In , Garbage out!
