  1. I downloaded the app and used it to put a couple items in my cart. I went to the cart and scrolled down through all the details and at the bottom of the screen was a big link box to check out and pay. I clicked that thinking I would see the place to enter the discount code on the next screen. However all I got was a thank you for your order and expect an email soon.

    I was not given any discount and even though it was only $3.50 I decided to call eBay on principle. The 1st CS said they were transferring me to the proper agent, but Paypal answered, so I hung up and tried again. The next call got me to the right department and I was surprised to learn what went wrong, as I thought I must have overlooked the window to enter the code on my cart screen. I learned that because in my desktop version of eBay I have automatic payments pre-arranged through a credit card; therefore the app didn’t show me the screen where one enters the discount code.
    After many minutes on hold, the agent got permission to issue me a $3.50 credit to my buying account with 2 full weeks to use it. That was ok, as I had wasted 45 minutes of eBay time and found out what went wrong. I know, I wasted my own time as well. I wonder why nobody at eBay anticipated this happening and hope they were deluged with calls like mine.
    I now need to play with the App version of eBay to see how it differs from the mobile version. I know in the mobile version, the seller’s description is hidden. Anybody know the breakdown of what % of buyers use desktop, mobile, and app?

    1. If you have a business account with PayPal they give you a monthly report and shows the percentages of orders from a PC and from mobile.
      I used to get any where from 15% to 20% of sales on mobile but since around the middle of summer I have had none.
      I assume that is when they did the update to mobile and it must be really crap because hardly any of my customers use it any more. I can see that if they do not give the description on mobile then none of my customers would use it since I sell collectables and people want to read the description of what is being sold.
      eBay has shot itself in the foot again if that is truly the case and is just another reason why sales are down.

      eBay = Dead Man Walking
