  1. ahhh…the BOGUS GMV number, which INCLUDES the seller’s shipping cost, and DOESN’T INCLUDE returns.
    Such a convenient number to crow about.

  2. Any figures eBay throws out should be taken with a grain of salt = they lie about everything. They’re only trying to push more sellers into managed payments with propaganda about how well it’s doing.

    Another thing to mention is that any savings acheived through this will likely be wiped out on the next “Seller Update”. It’s nearly a guarantee they’ll increase fees on this. Right now it’s more like an introductory offer. But when they trap enough sellers in it they will hit them with increased fees. eBay never stops in their constant money-grabbing.

  3. As mentioned elsewhere, given the 3rd quarter results delay, there may be a new CEO in the wings.
    Hopefully, he/she will have some business sense and will recognize MP for the boondoggle it is.

    If the new person does the right thing, sellers will carry that person off the field on their shoulders like some kicker who just hit a 60 yarder as time ran out.

  4. Maybe they could include a calculator to show how many sales are lost/aborted by customers who want to use PP.

  5. Once every seller is required to use Managed Payments, you can bet the processing fee will go up. Because what recourse will sellers have? It will be “Devin’s way or the highway.” He’s already stated he’s not begging anyone to use Managed Payments; either you use it or you go somewhere else. So if he raises the processing fee to 3% or 5% or higher, sellers can pay or they can go.

  6. Once they force eBay managed payments it will be the end of my store on eBay after 19+ years.
    I am already setting up other venues that hopefully after time will be just as good if not better than eBay.
    I have used PayPal and have had a business account with them since 2001 and have never had a problem.

    Devin and his cronies can stick it where the sun don’t shine.

    eBay = Dead Man Walking
