eBay Under $10 promotionAs if $10 weren’t low enough, eBay is luring bargain hunters with a $5 coupon good for products listed in its Under $10 portal. It’s another sign that eBay believes it can attract new buyers through bargain-basement prices.

“$5 for You. Now Get Shopping. Spend our cash on what you love!”

eBay launched the Under $10 shop in March, you can read more about it here.

  1. So if you have bought anything on Fleecebay in the last year your don’t get to use the coupon. Just another reason to NEVER EVER BUY anything on fleabag.

  2. Am I reading this correctly? This is for Under $10.00 Section, but you must spend $5.01?? If this is the case, it should be called “Penny for You”. Just the perfect demographic that claim they want to attract. Has Amazon ever done this???

  3. Unless this was advertised outside of ebay, how exactly does it attract “new” buyers?

And how does ebay explain to stockholders that it’s happily and willingly taking up to a $4 loss on EVERY sale in this promotion?

Maybe…”money well spent. It cost just $4 to get a new customer who has a $5 junk budget. Repeat sales will take care of themselves.”
