eBay told shoppers in Canada that it has fixed a glitch impacting search. Users had been unable to filter search results by attributes such as size, color, style, or even brand. The problem started in late November, according to users discussing the problem on this thread.
On Monday, eBay Canada announced the problem was fixed: “Recently, the Advanced Search Refinements in certain categories were unavailable due to a technical issue. This issue has now been resolved, and refinements are now available. We thank you for your patience.” The problem did not impact the eBay.com website.
eBay Canada also told users it would be overhauling community features in the New Year:
“The Community Discussion Boards have long been a staple of the eBay marketplace. These boards have evolved with us, but in recent years, they’ve lacked some of the important features that you’ve told us are important to you. On Monday, January 8th, we’re going to be delivering some of those features to the English Community boards, with French to follow within a few weeks:
– A unified seller news portal that will provide dynamic, timely news on the issues you need to know about to run your business
– A more efficient search engine
– Improved look, feel, and functionality
– Familiar features, such as Kudos, Solutions, and Feedback scores
“There should be no disruption to the eBay Community while the changeover is in process, and the current Announcement Board platform will remain available for important updates. You won’t need to re-register for the new version of the Community, and discussions created on the previous version will still be available.”
