eBay announced it has added category filters to its Watch List feature, which lets shoppers add items to a list for future reference when they don’t wish to purchase them right away. The new feature lets shoppers filter their Watch Lists to help them find items they may be looking for among the products included.
The Watch List category filters are currently live on desktop and on iOS in the US, UK, Germany, Australia, Canada, France, Italy, and Spain. eBay said it would add the category filters to Android apps later this year.
Some users had spotted the feature back in August, as we noted in the AuctionBytes Blog. And last month, eBay eliminated the promotion of a feature called Collections, announcing that it would no longer display them in key areas of the site – instead, it wrote, “We’ll be studying how customers are using collections and plan to incorporate them into watch lists, allowing you to create your own private shopping list.”
Announcement follows:
When you are shopping on eBay and you aren’t quite ready to buy – you can add that item to your Watch List and keep track of it while you continue to search. If you’re like me, after a while of shopping and searching, you might end up with more than 30 items from across eBay in your Watch List. I might spend a week or two looking for the best deals on new sneakers. Do I want the latest Stan Smiths? Tech steel or mint green? I might even take a break and start searching for things for my newborn – and suddenly my Watch List is half Adidas and half Aden + Anais. Maybe I want to see just my shoes or maybe just the baby blankets.
Today, we’ve added category filters to the eBay Watch List to help do just that. The new filter feature lets you sift through your Watch List by selecting a specific category of items to view. Watching items on eBay has never been easier with this filtering option that helps you compare and find what you are looking for.
When you go to your Watch List, you’ll see different categories for the different types of items you have saved, whether it’s Men’s Shoes or Nursery Bedding! Once you select the category you are interested in filter to, you’ll be able to see all of those specific items in your Watch List. Now, all you have to do is decide which to buy.
So, add as much as you want to your Watch List, because this filtering feature will make it easier to sort through. It’s just one of the ways we are expanding the Watch List to make your shopping experience uniquely you on eBay. We’re continuing to improve the filtering system to offer a more flexible and personalized experience.
The Watch List category filters are currently live on desktop and on iOS in the U.S., U.K., Germany, Australia, Canada, France, Italy and Spain. They’ll be coming to Android later this year.

Its really sad that Fleecebay doesn’t have the gonads to fix some of the current glitches before creating some other useless feature that someone can’t use because of the current glitches.
Someone in the ivory tower needs to start paying attention to all the problems instead of creating new ones.
