Etsy Helps Sellers Impacted by Hurricane Harvey

Etsy

Etsy logoSellers impacted by Hurricane Harvey can reach out to Etsy if they need help, and it’s working with an organization to further help artists. Etsy is partnering with CERF+, a nonprofit focused exclusively on safeguarding artists’ livelihoods nationwide, to provide direct financial relief to artists who have suffered career-threatening damages from the storm.

An Etsy spokesperson said the company hasn’t identified how many sellers that will be covered, but instead will work with CERF+ “to make sure we maximize the reach of our impact.”

When we asked if there was any assistance available to sellers of vintage goods, she said all sellers affected by Hurricane Harvey should reach out to Etsy.

“We’re working to help defer bills, manage orders, and ensure everyone in our seller community has the support they need during this time. All of our sellers, including vintage, are so important to us and we’re hopeful that the direct relief we’re providing will help them in this time of need.”

Etsy’s announcement follows:

A way to help: Emergency relief for artists & makers hit by Hurricane Harvey
Thousands of Etsy sellers, and other creative entrepreneurs, have had their lives disrupted by Hurricane Harvey. We want to support these artists and makers to help rebuild, and we’ve heard from you that you do too.

Etsy is partnering with CERF+, a nonprofit focused exclusively on safeguarding artists’ livelihoods nationwide, to provide direct financial relief to artists who have suffered career-threatening damages from the storm.

Visit this page to learn more, donate or share with friends and family. Etsy will match every donation made through this page, up to $100,000.

You can also visit CERF+ to learn more about the work they do to support and protect independent artists.

Our thoughts are with our seller community during this difficult time. If you or an artist you know needs emergency relief please visit cerfplus.org/get-relief/apply-for-help/ to apply.

Etsy updated its announcement to add the following: “In addition, all sellers affected by Hurricane Harvey should reach out to Etsy here: etsy.me/2wpS42p. We’re working to help with orders, billing, and ensuring that our community has the support they need.”
