Etsy Adds More Flexibility to Pattern Store Hosting

EtsyEtsy added greater flexibility to its shop-hosting service. Pattern was basically a mirror of Etsy sellers’ shops when it launched last year. Now, sellers can to add off-Etsy listings to their Pattern stores – and Pattern-only listings do not have to meet Etsy’s handmade or vintage policy requirements.

Etsy’s Emily Reid posted the following announcement:

We’re excited to announce new features for all sellers using Pattern. Pattern gives you the tools you need to grow your brand and business outside the Etsy marketplace by creating a personalized website. Your listings are automatically synced with your Etsy shop inventory and now you have even more control: you can choose which listings sync with your website and list things on your website that you don’t sell on Etsy. Read on to learn more.

More control over your website inventory
Now you can choose which listings appear on your website and even list items that you don’t sell on Etsy. Listings that only appear on your website are free, don’t expire, and don’t need to be renewed. These Pattern-only listings do not have to meet Etsy’s handmade or vintage policies, but these items are still subject to our Prohibited Items Policy: www.etsy.com/legal/prohibited/

You can also curate your website by choosing which listings from your Etsy shop you want to display. You can manage both your Etsy shop and Pattern listings in your Shop Manager. All your orders from your website can still be processed the same way you do now.

A brand new website editor
With Pattern, you can choose a customizable theme to design a website that showcases your unique brand identity. We’ve introduced a new website editor experience so you can easily customize the theme, style, and pages of your website. New font options and suggested color pairings take the guesswork out of designing a beautiful, professional-looking website.

You can further customize your website by adding additional pages, including Contact Us and About pages and two new options:

– a Gallery page you can use to highlight custom work or feature more photos of your process

– an Events page you can use to let shoppers know about your upcoming events

All the information you need to grow
Make the most of your new website with business tips and technical help from the Pattern Success Center. In this new information hub, you’ll find advice designed for small businesses like yours.
