US Suppliers Can Reach Amazon Business Buyers in Germany

Amazon announced the launch of Amazon Business in Germany, a new service on Amazon.de for business sellers and customers. Sellers on Amazon worldwide now have the opportunity to grow their sales by reaching German business customers of all types and sizes – from small businesses to large global corporations, and institutional buyers like universities, hospitals, government agencies and non-profits.

Selling to businesses has now become as easy as selling to consumers on Amazon. Amazon Business provides sellers access to a set of features such as quantity discounts and exclusive business offers. The new service is available to sellers based in Germany and internationally, and is compatible with Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA).

“Marketplace sellers who sell to consumers have been growing their business successfully on Marketplace for over a decade now. With Amazon Business, sellers can now expand to business to business customers by profiting from Amazon’s ecommerce expertise and technology,” said Francois Saugier, Vice President, Amazon Seller Services in Europe.

Amazon Business features available to sellers now include:

  • Business Pricing and Quantity Discounts: Sellers can offer exclusive pricing to business customers and set quantity pricing to offer discounts when businesses purchase larger quantities.
  • Exclusive Business Offers: Sellers can choose to make products and prices available to business customers only.
  • Fulfillment by Amazon: With FBA, sellers can store their products in Amazon’s fulfillment centers. When customer orders are received, Amazon will pick, pack, ship and provide customer service for these products. With Amazon’s Pan-European FBA program, Amazon Business sellers of any size can reach customer in other EU countries. Sellers listing products with FBA make them eligible for free shipping, and for winning the Amazon Buy Box.

Sellers can already pre-enroll now for VAT calculation services that will be available in future on Amazon Business including VAT-invoicing and VAT-exclusive price display for Amazon Business customers.

Amazon Business launched in the US in April 2015 and now serves more than 400,000 businesses. Amazon Business in the US generated more than $1 billion in sales in its first year, with third-party sellers fulfilling over half of the orders. Today, more than 45,000 sellers sell on Amazon Business in the US.
