eBay Promotes White Glove Customer Service

eBay is encouraging its sellers to open Anchor Stores and is using a new pitch in a current promotion. “Make this your season of repeat business. Upgrade to the Anchor Level by September 6 and only pay the Premium Store fee for the first month. And enjoy white-glove customer service to help you keep shoppers coming back.”

Anchor Stores cost $349.95/month – or $299.95 if you sign up for a yearly subscription. And the “white glove customer service” eBay referred to in the promotion: free dedicated phone service seven days a week from 6AM-11PM Mountain Daylight Time.

The promotion is by invitation only and explained: “Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who activate the offer and then upgrade their eBay Store Subscription, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein, will be upgraded to the next level tier (Basic to Premium or Premium to Anchor), but pay the same rate as the original tier for the first month from the start date of the upgrade (collectively referred to as “Promotion”).”

The promotion kicked off on August 31 and runs through September 6, 2016. Sellers must activate the offer and then upgrade their Store subscription. Note that for the Yearly Stores subscription, a one-year commitment period is required, and sellers should review all details and restrictions carefully.
