Amazon Runs Promo to Attract Business Buyers

Amazon is running a promotion to attract companies to sign up for its Amazon Business program. The Amazon Back to Businesspromotion offers deals on business products and office supplies.

Under the promotion, Amazon Business customers will receive exclusive 20% discounts on more than 600 products through March 11th. Note that the discount applies only to items shipped and sold by Amazon.com.

The products range from an office shredder to a kitchen faucet, and brands include 3M, Avery, Brother, Canon, Dell, Elmers, Georgia Pacific, Intuit, Kimberly Clark, NETGEAR, and Rubbermaid.

The offer applies only to verified Amazon Business customers while supplies last and does not apply to digital content. Other restrictions: “Offer limited to one per customer and account. The maximum benefit you may receive from this offer is 10 units per product.”

It’s worth noting that Amazon Business customers are excluded from Amazon Prime free shipping, so we checked in with an Amazon spokesperson about whether the program made sense for micro sellers.

The company spokesperson explained that Amazon Business customers receive free two-day shipping on eligible orders $49 and over. “If free two-day shipping on orders $49 and over meets your business needs, you do not need to join Prime. Amazon Prime is intended to support personal accounts, rather than business accounts, and offers a vast number of additional benefits. Our terms and conditions do allow licensed businesses to use Prime benefits for the purpose of their own consumption, but not to purchase products for the purpose of resale, rental, or to ship to their customers.”

You can find terms and conditions on the Amazon website.
