What You Need to Know about Etsy Payments and Disbursements

Etsy issued two important reminders to sellers this week. One message deals with how it will disburse payments to sellers during the holidays (expect delays), the other is a reminder about a new policy involving PayPal and Etsy’s payment processing service.

Etsy sellers who use Direct Checkout will not receive disbursements on December 25th; US sellers will receive funds on December 28th instead, and international sellers will receive disbursements on December 29th due to the Boxing Day holiday on Monday.

Likewise, Etsy sellers will not receive disbursements on New Year’s Day; disbursements will resume for all members on Monday, January 4. See the full announcement on this page.

Etsy also reminded sellers that the final deadline for choosing their Direct Checkout payment setting is on Thursday, December 31st. This relates to the recent announcement, explained on this page, that proved unpopular with some sellers.

“After this date,” Etsy reminded sellers on Monday, “if you have a bank account in the United States, you won’t be able to switch between integrated PayPal and standalone PayPal; your payment setting will be locked. You’ll be able to switch to integrated PayPal at any time, but after December 31, you won’t be able to return to standalone PayPal.”

You can see the full announcement on this page.
