eBay UK is running another free-listing promotion, this one for business sellers, leading one Ecommerce reader to ask, “Is this the end of “paid for” listings?”
eBay UK is giving business sellers seven days of zero insertion fees for up to 50,000 fixed-price listings, though it’s by invitation only. “There seem to be so many (promotions) now even for business accounts,” the reader said.
Here are some details of eBay’s latest promotion for UK sellers:
“eBay.co.uk registered business sellers who have been invited to participate by email or by a message in My eBay Messages and actively opt in to the promotion via the Sign up now button in this email. Participation is linked to the invited seller’s account and is not transferable. To take part in this promotion, sellers must be registered as resident in the UK.”
There are restrictions, such as this one: “Good ‘Til Cancelled listings that automatically renew during the promotional period won’t be eligible for the promotion.”
The promotion kicked off on Monday and runs through October 25, 2015. All other fees apply, see website for details and restrictions.
