Amazon Expands Prime Now in London

Amazon continues to build out its Prime Now super-fast delivery service. London became its first international city in June, and now the marketplace is expanding the service to more customers in that country as of this week, with plans to expand to additional cities in the UK before the end of the year.

Prime customers in Merton, Wandsworth, and Sutton in London now have access to one-hour delivery, which costs 6.99 pounds, while Prime customers in Kingston, Sunbury and Croydon now have access Prime Now two-hour delivery for the first time, which is free.

Amazon said that thanks to its new delivery station in Wimbledon, the number of postcodes eligible for one-hour delivery has increased five-fold, while the number of postcodes eligible for a two-hour delivery window has almost tripled.

Amazon also expanded Prime Now to Birmingham in August. Shoppers can see if they’re eligible on the Amazon UK Prime Now website.

Amazon expanded Prime Now to Los Angeles and Orange County last month, reporting availability in a total of 13 cities worldwide.
