eBay Promotion Encourages Auctions and Fixed Price

eBay is running a new promotion for US sellers, and unlike another promotion running this month, it is not limited to one category. While the landing page mentions an invitation, it does not specify the sale is by invitation only, stating it’s open to all US and Canadian sellers – so sellers should check to see if they received an invitation notice.

The language of the promotion is targeted at what eBay calls “consumer sellers”:

“EXPERIENCE THE BENEFITS OF EXTRA CASH, WHEN YOU SELL ON EBAY: If you’ve been waiting for the right time to sell, take advantage of this great offer and the over 100 million buyers who are looking for the items you no longer need. Imagine what you’ll do with the money you make.”

Sellers must activate the promotion – once they do, they’ll be able to list up to 500 listings with no insertion fees.

The promotion applies to auctions and fixed-price listings, but 1- and 3-day listings are excluded. It does include relisted items (usually eBay restricts sales to new listings only these days).

The sale kicks off today, August 11th and runs through August 17th. All other fees apply, see eBay website for details and restrictions.
