Etsy Holds Audition for Sellers to Showcase Their Talents

Etsy is inviting its wholesale sellers to an open call where they can pitch their talents for a chance to meet with boutique and retail buyers in person.

Etsy artisans and designers won’t sing and dance or read for a part, but they will have to convince Etsy to choose them in order to attend a July 21st event at Etsy headquarters where they can pitch their product lines in person to wholesale buyers from retailers including Nordstrom, Clementine, the Walker Art Center’s Walker Shop, The Land of Nod, and Lou & Grey.

The “open call” is taking place on Instagram, where Etsy sellers are required to post an image of their best product with a brief pitch and the hashtags #EtsyOpenCall and @EtsyWholesale.

Designers must become approved for Etsy Wholesale if they’re not already.

An Etsy spokesperson explained, “Retailers shop Etsy Wholesale to discover unique products that can’t be found anywhere else. During the event on July 21, buyers will see items in person and find those special pieces to stock their shelves for the upcoming holiday season.”
