Etsy Canada is spreading its message in person through a 9-day road trip in two provinces that kicks off in Montreal today (August 1st). Staff at the Toronto headquarters have prepared a 30-foot custom AirStream trailer with vintage and handmade goods, “perfect for on-the-go picnicking and partying.”
Etsy will host several pop-up events in four cities: Montreal, Ottawa, Kingston, and Toronto, from August 1-9. The pop-ups feature Etsy sellers, musicians, and local food trucks alongside free concerts, product giveaways and more. “Locals will have the chance to meet and mingle with some of their favorite sellers while shopping their one-of-a-kind pieces.”
Etsy is using social media to get people talking about the tour. “Cruise along with us as we travel the open road by following #EtsyRoadTrip on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or by visiting etsy.me/etsyroadtrip for the full program schedule.”
In addition, users who share their favorite road trip memories in the comments or on social media using the hashtag #etsyroadtrip could be featured in an upcoming blog post.
Etsy will also get attention for the event through five Canadian lifestyle bloggers who will join the road trip and share their experiences via travelogue.
There will be two stops in Montreal (August 1 and 2), two stops in Ottawa and Kingston (August 4 and 5), and two stops in Toronto (August 8 and 9). Details are found on Etsy’s Tumblr.
