eBay UK Runs Promotion for Business Sellers Next Week

eBay is running a promotion for UK sellers. Sellers registered on eBay.co.uk as business sellers must sign up for the promotion in order to participate – if they were invited and sign up, they will receive free listings on up to 50,000 fixed-price listings from November 18 – 22, 2013.

The promotion mentions several times this is for business sellers, leading one to surmise that the fact eBay wrote under “Summary of restrictions & exclusions” that “Business sellers and/or PowerSellers are not eligible to participate in this promotion” is a mistake.

It didn’t help, however, that at least one business seller who received an invitation and tried to sign up received a message, “Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.”

Sellers must have received an email or a message in My eBay Messages and actively opt in to the promotion via the RSVP link shown in the marketing communication. Participation is linked to the invited seller’s account and is not transferable.

The terms and conditions said only business sellers whose accounts meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards are eligible.

Most of eBay UK’s promotions are for private (casual) sellers only, and usually occur over the weekend, so business sellers who receive the invitation and are able to successfully sign up are no doubt quite happy to get free listings during the all-important holiday shopping season.

All other fees apply, see eBay UK website for details and restrictions.
