eBay Warns Sellers of UPS, FedEx Changes

eBay advised sellers that UPS and FedEx were making changes to rates and policies that were scheduled to take effect this week. However, eBay later updated its announcement to inform sellers that UPS had cancelled its plans to change certain surcharges this year.

In its original announcement, eBay said UPS was updating its Domestic Large Package Surcharges (LPS) and Domestic Additional Handling Charges (AHC) fees starting August 17.

On Friday, eBay added the following update to its announcement:

“We have an important update regarding the UPS Cube Definition update for AHC/LPS packages: the implementation originally scheduled for Monday, August 18, will not go into effect at this time and will be revisited for 2026. Learn more about UPS rate updates.”

eBay had also stated in its original announcement that beginning August 18, FedEx and UPS would begin rounding up all package dimensions—length, width, and height—to the next whole inch. “To avoid unexpected charges, make sure to round up your measurements for accurate shipping rates,” eBay had said; presumably that policy is still taking effect.

Sellers may have missed the news since eBay published the announcement on the Shipping discussion board rather than the Seller Announcement board.
