Amazon Announces Date of 3rd Annual Prime Big Deal Days Sale

Amazon is holding its 3rd annual Prime Big Deal Days sale on October 8 – 9, 2024, in which it offers exclusive “early holiday deals” exclusively for Prime members. Amazon will offer new deals as often as every 5 minutes during select periods throughout the event.

The inaugural event, which was called “Prime Early Access Sale,” was held October 11 – 12, 2022, and was introduced as “a new occasion promoting Black Friday caliber deals exclusively to Prime members.”

In today’s announcement, Amazon said Prime members could get up to 40% off winter fashion; find deals on Halloween costumes and accessories; and see savings on electronics. “Prime Big Deal Days is also a great time to stock up on everyday essentials including batteries, home storage, and pet care from Amazon Basics that offers quality products at exceptional prices.”

This year, Amazon is encouraging shoppers to use its gen-AI conversational shopping assistant called Rufus – “from finding deals to selecting the perfect gift to answering shopping questions, Rufus helps customers make more informed shopping decisions.”

Last year Amazon renamed Prime Early Access Sale to “Prime Big Deal Days” and held it on October 10 and 11. Amazon said Prime members saved over $1 billion across millions of deals during last year’s October sale and purchased over 25 million items with same-day or next-day delivery on the first day of the sale.

Last week, Amazon invited sellers to offer deals to take advantage of the interest from Prime members. (FBA sellers had until September 13 to get inventory to fulfillment centers in order to participate in this year’s Big Deal Days.)

Prime Big Deal Days 2024 will kick off on October 8 in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, the UK, the US, and for the first time, Turkey. Amazon will hold the sale in Japan later in October. The full press release is on the press section of AboutAmazon.com.
