
Amazon and Walmart issued press releases on Monday to announce their upcoming Black Friday deals, and both marketplaces promoted their free-shipping subscription membership programs.
Walmart is offering a 50% discount on its Walmart+ plan from October 28 through December 2, 2024 (shoppers can sign up for a 1-year subscription to Walmart+ for $49).
Amazon reminded shoppers that it offers 50% discounts to qualifying government assistance recipients through Prime Access and to students through Prime Student.
Amazon said this year Black Friday falls on November 29th – always the Friday after Thanksgiving, with Cyber Monday following on Monday, December 2nd. Amazon will offer “tons of great deals” across different categories, with its Amazon’s Deals page offering early deals.
Walmart said it is running three sales events:
- Event one deals begin online Monday, Nov. 11 at 12 p.m. ET exclusively for paid Walmart+ members, 5 p.m. ET for all customers and starts in stores Friday, Nov. 15 at 6 a.m. local time.
- Event two deals begin online Monday, Nov. 25 at 12 p.m. ET exclusively for paid Walmart+ members, 5 p.m. ET for all customers and starts in stores Friday, Nov. 29 at 6 a.m. local time.
- Cyber Monday deals start Sunday, Dec. 1 at 5 p.m. ET exclusively for paid Walmart+ members and 8 p.m. ET for all customers on Walmart.com and the Walmart app, bringing customers incredible savings for the online shopping extravaganza, including Walmart+ Early Access three hours early.
