Amazon to Hold 'Prime Big Deal Days' Sale in October

Amazon will hold its Prime Big Deal Days event in October this year, and sellers who use its FBA fulfillment service will have until September 13 to get their inventory to US fulfillment centers.

Last year, Amazon held the Prime Big Deal Days sale on October 10-11, officially announcing the sale on September 18th. Amazon also advised sellers to get their inventory to its warehouses by October 19, 2024 this year in order to take advantage of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, which fall on November 29 and December 2, respectively.

The company used the opportunity to promote its AWD service, telling sellers this week:

“To help optimize your holiday inventory strategy, you can use Amazon Warehousing and Distribution (AWD) as a low-cost bulk storage solution with pay-as-you-go pricing. With AWD, we’ll automatically replenish your products to fulfillment centers based on demand signals to help you maintain the right FBA inventory levels. There are no additional fees for AWD during peak times, and inventory that’s auto-replenished from AWD doesn’t count toward your FBA capacity limits.”

To encourage sellers to use AWD, Amazon is offering a 25% discount off the base rate for AWD storage fees, and 15% off the base rate for AWD processing and transportation fees. (Terms and conditions apply.)

On Friday, Amazon also published FAQs related to sending inventory to AWD to take advantage of holiday sales.

And in case you were wondering, there are 93 days until Black Friday.
