Amazon Advises Sellers on Holiday Vacation Mode, Holiday Support Hours

Amazon sellers ready to take a break for the holidays have the option to put their account in vacation mode, the marketplace reminded sellers on Tuesday. “If you plan to take time off over the holidays, we recommend that you update your vacation status to avoid missing orders that could affect your performance. This setting temporarily removes your seller-fulfilled listings from product detail pages and search results.”

Conversely, sellers able to send seller-fulfilled orders on Christmas and New Year’s Day may wish to override Amazon’s public holidays setting by changing their Holiday settings.

An October post on eDesk offered some tips about Amazon Vacation settings, including warning merchants that they should give the settings up to 2 days to take effect, and advised them to continue to respond to buyers even while on vacation.

“Unfortunately, you’ll have to check your account a little while you’re away, or assign tasks to someone trustworthy and reliable.

“The biggest check-in that’ll have to be done is responding to buyers within 24 hours so that you can maintain good seller account metrics, as Amazon requires you to provide them with an answer within that timeframe.”

In Tuesday’s Amazon post, it also advised sellers that its Account Health Support would not be operating on December 25, 2024, and again on January 1, 2025.
