eBay wants to help sellers in Mexico sell outside the country, and it launched a new platform for them called Crece Con eBay. The platform focuses on three main objectives:
- To provide useful information to its users about the process of the export of their products through eBay;
- To guide its users step by step through interactive guides;
- To provide support and advice at all times to SMEs.
Services include tutorials, user guides, real-time support capabilities, and assistance organizing logistics.
eBay said only one in ten small- and medium-sized businesses in Mexico has its own ecommerce website, limiting their international reach.
In January of 2015, eBay acquired Vivanuncios, a classifieds site based in Mexico. And rival Amazon expanded its presence in Mexico last year with the launch of Selling on Amazon and Fulfillment by Amazon (Logistica de Amazon), allowing Mexican sellers of all sizes to reach customers across Mexico and internationally.
