Dear Ina,
Re: Shill Bidding on eBay: this is ongoing, and as one person pointed out when I looked it up, having been the victim of this multiple times (being outbid by shillers), eBay doesn’t care because of the fees they get on the items being shilled.
Chinese sellers are trying to acquire 100% good feedback on the one hand, then using shill accounts that have extraordinary statistics like 10,000 bids on 9,000 items – in one month – and you can see from their history that all bids are one here, one there, two here – all different sellers, or that have only one or two bids predominantly for the sellers they are shilling for, nothing that says they’re bidding on anything they really want, as several bids on one item might indicate.

Hi Ina,
Is it possible for Ecommerce Bytes to once again review both eCrater and Go Antiques to get updated seller input? I had previously sold on Etsy with what I considered minimal results.
I went inactive about (3) years ago to return to full time work and am now looking for a different marketplace to use. I have followed Etsy via Ecommerce Bytes with dismay and am not sure I want to return. More current reviews might help with such places as eCrater and Go Antiques.
Thank you.
Paul

@Paul (author of the second letter): Try selling on eCrater. It costs you nothing to open a store, and you don’t have anyone micromanaging your business, or requiring unreasonable policies such as free shipping to have your listings seen, forced returns from liar buyers, or soon, only eBay Payments. Setting up a store is easy, and listing an item is super easy.
