Reports are flooding in that eBay sent sellers an extra payout on Friday morning from those only scheduled to receive weekly payouts on Tuesdays.
One of the readers alerting us to the issue wrote, “I am set to receive weekly payouts from eBay. The payouts are initiated on Tuesday. I did get one earlier this week. Now, for some reason, I was notified of another payout. I’m not the only one. See here,” and pointed to this thread on the eBay discussion boards.
One eBay seller (and frequent eBay board poster) Mr_lincoln said they initially believed today’s payout might have been triggered by a credit that was due sellers from a cancelled-label glitch on June 29th. But they added, “another member told me that some Weekly payout members did not get their Weekly payout on Tuesday this week. So perhaps the system is catching up and just sending out Payouts for everything since Tuesday this week!?!”
Another seller wrote, “There were a lot of posts earlier this week, from sellers who did not receive their payout on Tuesday as scheduled. I think some of them finally received the payout today. It’s possible that eBay pushed out another payout this week, to correct that for the sellers who were affected by the earlier issue. Maybe they paid too many sellers, this time, instead of too few.”
Some sellers had reported Tuesday’s non-payout glitch on this thread on the eBay boards on Tuesday.
As usual with eBay glitches, sellers felt relief in numbers. “I got one too and it freaked me out,” a seller wrote. “I immediately changed my password and added 2FA. I assumed someone had gotten into my account and tried to send themselves money. I feel better knowing it’s happening to others.”
While it might seem like a positive to get payouts early, one seller explained how it negatively impacted them:
“I got one also. I messaged eBay on Facebook and they replied back right away that it was an error that effected the entire United States Platform and IT is working on it so it never happens again. I was more concerned that they switched it to Friday’s and didn’t tell anyone an then would be left to adjust accordingly. So now I’ll just have 1-day that I’m in the negative because I didn’t print my shipping labels yet for what’s going out today.”
Update 7/18/2025: An eBay moderator posted the following response on Friday morning: “There is an open sitewide ticket open under ALERT16072 for sellers having scheduled for weekly payouts, but received two payouts in this week. The Product team is working on resolving this issue as soon as possible.”
