eBay continues to throw off an intermittent error message that some eBay sellers encounter when trying to list or “sell similar” continue, an eBay moderator confirmed today. A seller explained in mid-May, “For about 4 weeks now this is the constant situation I have to deal with. eBay works fine for me on all other levels all day, messaging customers, giving refunds, checking on my own bids and purchases. But as soon as I try to list, BAM, it just shuts down….for about 10 – 20 minutes, then I can list one thing. I try to list a similar item within minutes and sometimes I can list several things in a row then BAM shut down again for another 10 – 20 minutes. None of this makes sense.”
Other sellers chimed in reporting the same issue, and the Original Poster returned on June 1st to say they were still having the problem listing items, and reporting, “There is no pattern to this.”
On Tuesday, a seller tagged a moderator, who acknowledged there was an ongoing problem:
“It sounds like @cinema_visions may be experiencing ALERT15317 where a seller is unable to list or sell similar as they are getting an error intermittently. I would recommend OP reaching out to customer support to have their account added to the ticket as an example and hopefully this should be resolved soon.”
There are multiple threads about the intermittent issue. On Tuesday, a seller wrote, “For the past couple of weeks, (today is June 4, 2024) eBay seems to be down very frequently. Mostly only for short periods, but most annoying. I am a seller and I spend time composing a listing, then hit submit, only to find it doesn’t submit (I get the “I’ve Looked Everywhere” page) and I’ve lost all the information I created and have to start over. What is going on?”

Guess explains why no sales today. Been happening for a couple weeks, list similar, revise or relist and goes to middle of page. When I try to bulk sell similar, change variable and page freezes, seems to list the items but you have to check.
Oh goody! This will force the lazy sellers to actually work instead of stealing other sellers’ word descriptions and photos.
The explains why no sales for 4 days in a row. That has never happened to us before.
Sounds like everything is running normal on ebay
