eBay Confirms 'Disappeared' Sell Similar Was Due to a Glitch

eBay confirmed on Friday that the disappearance of the Sell Similar feature, which we reported on Wednesday, was due to a glitch. An eBay moderator replied on a thread about the issue and said eBay was working on a fix:

“I was finally able to get some insight on this and this was not an intentional change and out product team in working on a fix to hopefully be rolled out today.”

Sellers in the eBay Motors Parts & Accessories category had complained that the missing feature was costing them time, with one seller estimating the problem has slowed his listing process by 40%, as we reported in Wednesday’s EcommerceBytes blog post.

A reader had been worried that eBay had made the change intentionally to reduce the number of eBay Guaranteed Fit claims in the Parts & Accessories category.

While confirming the change was due to a technical issue, it doesn’t appear eBay ever documented the Sell Similar glitch in the thread where it tracks technical issues.
