Amazon Expands Logistics in Mississippi with 2nd FC

Amazon announced on Monday it will open a second fulfillment center in Mississippi, to be located in DeSoto County.

The over one million-square-foot fulfillment center will be used to fulfill large customer items, such as sports equipment, patio furniture, fishing rods, pet food, kayaks, bicycles, and larger household goods.

In December 2018, Amazon revealed its plans to open a 554,000-square-foot fulfillment center in the state to be used to fulfill items such as lawn and garden products, toiletries, and other household consumer goods.

Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant said, “This announcement serves as a shining example to industry leaders around the globe that Mississippi plays to win. We offer a supportive business climate and integrated transportation network so companies with shipping needs, such as Amazon, can reach their customers in rapid time and remain a step ahead of their competition.”

Amazon said the new facility would result in the creation of 500 new, full-time jobs in DeSoto County. See the full press release on AboutAmazon.com.
