eBay CEO Devin Wenig Turns to Facebook to Give Thanks

eBay CEO Devin Wenig

eBay CEO Devin WenigeBay CEO Devin Wenig wrote a series of posts on Facebook to thank eBay customers and employees, charities, communities, sellers and merchants, media, and financial analysts. He wished them happy holidays and told them to expect big things from eBay in the New Year. Here’s his series of posts from this morning:

this was a remarkable year for the world and for @ebay. We promised transformational changes you could “see from space” along with accelerating growth, and that’s what we delivered. A few holiday/year end thanks…

thank you to our c170MM customers around the world who we work tirelessly for; to our employees around the world who work with purpose and drive and courage; to the charities that it is a privilege to support, and the communities we are a part of.

a special thank you to our sellers/merchants who power our marketplace. This was a year of a lot of change, and we recognize the impact. Thank you for your support and passion.

to the media that covered us comprehensively and fairly (even when we didnt like it!) . Special call out to @WSJ , @Recode , @business ; @WIRED ; @Forbes ; @CNET ; @CNBC ; @globeandmail ; @TODAYshow ; @USATODAY

and analysts who do the work and cover us extensively so investors have transparency. Some of the most thorough on @ebay @heathterry ; @Colin_Sebastian ; @rosssandler ; Eric Sheridan; Aaron Kessler.

Happy Holiday and a great New Year to All. Expect big things from us in the New Year.

  1. This WOULD rate a World Record Belly Laugh…..
(HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA ! ! !)

But seeing as this is the Holiday Season, I want to be more respectful, accommodating, and gracious in my reply, as this is the season of friendship and giving. Of course first, I must thank Ebay, and Mr. Wenig for all the truly wonderful and questionable new policies and screw-ups, particularly of the recent past.

And with that said, I may fall back into a more unsettled, less benevolent mood. I see no reason, just because a rich guy wishes me well, after destroying my income, I should go high….. I believe in going low when appropriate. So, I’ve been wondering, as other sellers have, about this particular Holiday Selling Season on Ebay. So, IN REGARD, to SO LITTLE SELLER INCOME this season…..

“PLEASE Sir, Can We Have Some More”?
