eBay Raises Fees Considerably for Canadian Motors Upgrades


eBay logoeBay is raising fees considerably for eBay Motors in Canada next month. For example, the fee for adding 10-day duration is going up 65%, while the fee for adding Buy It Now for auction listings is going up 400% (from $2 to $10). eBay Canada is also introducing a two-tiered system for adding a Reserve Price: listings with a Reserve Price of below $75,000 is going up 471%, from $7 to $40. A for Reserve Prices above $75,000 the fee is going up 1,314%, to $99.

It appears eBay Canada is also doing away lower fees for Powersports vehicles under 50cc, meaning selling those types of items are going up at an even higher percentage.

Announcement follows:

Starting Monday November 13th 2017, the cost for some Motors advanced listing upgrades on the eBay Canada site will change in order to align with corresponding fees on eBay Motors US. These changes will only affect certain categories, which include:

Cars & Trucks
Other Vehicles & Trailers

The updated pricing will be as follows:
Advanced listing upgrade Fee
10-Day Duration $18
21-Day Duration $40
Buy It Now (Auction only) $10
Reserve Price (Below $75,000) $40
Reserve Price (Above $75,000) $99

All prices are in Canadian Dollars and reflect the cost before sales tax is applied.
